You’ll want to a choose an LED light color carefully for your microgreens. Ultraviolet light is too damaging, so avoid that. Violet and blue tones will lead to microgreens with a stronger smell and flavor, making them a great choice. Green LED light will produce more chlorophyll in your microgreens. Blue and red light can accelerate growth, but yellow slows it.

Many varieties of microgreens will grow indoors just fine using only the direct light (or even indirect for some varieties) that comes through your window.
How many hours of light do microgreens need? Microgreens are pretty flexible, and they’ll grow well on a sunny windowsill. For maximum growth, 4-6 hours of sunshine a day is needed, but if you don’t have that available, a simple LED grow light will supplement.

May 08, 2019 · More than two days. Anywhere from about 5 to 21 days. But, most microgreens are happy with 100 uMols/s/m^2, or around 700 lux, and some even lower than that. Even "hungry" ones, like basils, max out below 250 uMols, and grow alright with less. Coverage is more of a concern than photons.
Usage Guidelines: Microgreens can be grown at anywhere between 100-250 µmol/m2/s PPFD. Higher light levels will grow more compact, spicy, vibrant crops, but this is not universally preferrred.
